Build your leadership and professional skills as a Raspberry Royalty candidate! Our candidate program focuses on personal growth and is designed to cover 5 pillars of leadership that we identify as: Purpose, Integrity, Teamwork, Courage, and Humility. Raspberry Royalty Candidate is designed for young women between the ages of 16 and 22.
The Raspberry Royalty Candidate Program begins at the end of May and comes to an end in July during the Hopkins Raspberry Festival. At the conclusion of candidacy, three candidates will be crowned Raspberry Royalty at the Royal Coronation. The selected candidates will represent the Hopkins Raspberry Festival and build upon their leadership skills for one year until the next festival.
Work on creating, reviewing, or improving your resume and taking a look at LinkedIn profiles from a professional viewpoint. You will also experience interviews with feedback and opportunities to build other professional skills. Raspberry Royalty Candidates will have the chance to practice speaking publicly at a festival board meeting and several other networking events.
Several candidate events partner with local businesses to build a connection with the community of Hopkins. Whether it’s standing up in front of a whole room or just casually mingling in a crowd of new people, you’ll gain practice and tips for breaking the ice and building your confidence.
Service to others is a foundational principle of leadership. The Hopkins Raspberry Festival and the Raspberry Royalty are supported by an amazing group of volunteers. Spend some time volunteering at Feed My Starving Children in Chanhassen with the current Raspberry Royalty and other festival volunteers to give back to others.
As a fun event near the end of the candidacy program, all registered candidates will attend a Minnesota Twins game at Target Field! The current Raspberry Royalty will have the opportunity to throw out the first pitch and candidates and other volunteers will be in the crowd to cheer them on!
